QPR and ASIST trainings
We provide QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) training. The 60-90 minute training covers:
- learning the signs of suicide
- risk factors for suicide
- how to ask "the question" about suicide
- how to refer to local resources
For a more indepth training for physicians, therapists, counselors, or others in the mental health or medical field, we train in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). This two day training covers an intensive suicide prevention interventions.
Outreach
We go out to the community and provide information about local resources for mental health services and to increase suicide awareness. In the past, we have held booths at health fairs and college campuses. We would like to reach out to other high risk groups such as middle aged men and college students
If you are interested in being involved in any of our projects or have a project you would like to pitch, email us at mhsparc@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you.
